If you don’t see why this is offensive, you may not be one of those “dependent” Americans. Maybe you don’t see everything as an entitlement, and maybe you understand that government is supposed to provide for the general welfare of the people. Maybe you also understand that the financial system tips to one side, and very few benefit while the majority wallow in poverty. No matter how hard you work, you’ve learned that there are political boundaries keeping you from true success. Just maybe… You’re not a victim. The statistics Romney throws around would suggest otherwise. In one of Willard’s biggest blunders, he calls nearly half the nation “victims” who need “entitlements” like health and education. This poor, uneducated, and pathetic image Romney created is his explanation of why people vote for Obama. Whoops.
UPDATE:
When he said that 47% of people don’t pay taxes, he was oversimplifying a very diverse group of people. But unfortunately, what he said is true.
